Sarah Barker

Occupational Therapist, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital

Sarah is an experienced occupational therapist currently working on a project aiming to create clinical pathways and a set of recommendations for veterans in the NHS.  This project aims to consider rehabilitation in the Ministry of Defence, to aid the transition of military personnel in to NHS care and Sarah is currently working on reviewing military veteran rehabilitation to create pathways in MSK, pain management and some mental health, with the Royal National Orthopaedic hospital and NHS England.

 

With a proven background in military charity health & welfare and mental health care coordination, as well as rehabilitation both in physical and mental health Sarah has a significant portfolio of continuous professional development including Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner training. Empathic mentor with significant recovery (BSc Occupational Therapy) and case working experience working with rehabilitating people to work towards independence. Qualified and experienced in marketing and business (BSc in Marketing and Business Studies) with particular interest in fund and awareness raising for charities.  Ongoing research interests and activity into the psychology of combat injury in serving personnel and veterans, and mental health in the community.
