Lynsey Spillman, MSc RD
Hepatology and Liver Transplant Dietitian and NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Clinical role and experience
I work at Addenbrooke’s Hospital with patients having liver transplant and with liver disease. I support patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. I have an interest in promoting long-term health after liver transplant. I am part of a network of all dietitians working in liver transplant in the UK.
Research training and experience
I have completed the NIHR funded Masters in Clinical Research at the University of East Anglia. I recently completed a qualitative research study where I interviewed 13 liver transplant recipients about their experiences with diet and physical activity after liver transplant. I am currently undertaking an NIHR funded PhD at the University of Cambridge measuring diet and physical activity after liver transplant and determinants of these behaviours.
Research collaborations
I am part of the Nurse, Midwife and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) Research Leadership Group at my Trust and work with clinicians, clinical researchers and academics across the Trust to progress NMAHP research culture and capacity.
